Parul University hosted Manthan 2026 on 22 August 2026, bringing its Online learners together on campus for an interactive day of dialogue, discussion and reflection. The event was organised by the university's Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at the Lakshya 2047 building.
The event focused on creating a stronger connection between online learners, faculty members and the university community. For several students, Manthan 2026 was an opportunity to visit the Parul University campus in person for the first time.
The theme of Manthan 2026 was reflected in its tagline, βVichar, Samvad, Chintanβ β Idea, Dialogue and Reflection. Instead of following a traditional lecture format, the programme encouraged students and experts to participate in discussions around education, technology and the changing role of humans in an increasingly AI-driven world.
One of the key highlights was a panel discussion on Humanities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. The discussion explored how technology is changing education and society and why areas such as literature, philosophy and the humanities continue to play an important role in developing human perspective and critical thinking.
The panel included experts from education and industry, with participation from representatives of Parul University and NASSCOM. Students were also encouraged to share their own views and experiences during the interaction.
A major highlight of Manthan 2026 was the participation of online learners from diverse professional backgrounds. The event featured students including a serving Army officer, retired banker, practising doctor and South African diplomat, demonstrating the diverse learner community that can benefit from flexible online education.
Students discussed how online education helped them continue their studies alongside professional responsibilities, family commitments and other activities.
